got a bit of everything yesterday...but the temps are warmer now so its mostly gone...
dang cant believe its almost february already....this year is just flying by. which I dont mind since its too dang cold to go out anywhere (though my bedroom is frosty enough so I dont even need to go outside to 'enjoy' the cold

).

so we ordered most of the parts...some we can get locally so we are going to do that this week....ordered from new egg--they carry some pretty strange things (yarn, bandaids....), guess it pays to diversify?

We ended up with just rain. Which was fine. Didn't want the other stuff. Rained most of last night and supposed to rain this morning as well. Currently 49 out. Bit of a jump from the 0 degree temps we had last week.

Newegg is a good place to buy from. I'll probably buy some of my parts from them as well once I go ahead and start getting the stuff. Which could be a couple of months from now.

welll...I managed to scratch my cornea yesterday somehow....so I have been to the eye doctor, the pharmacy--where, yes, my stupid insurance WONT cover my prescription (gee go figure they would actually have to PAY something instead of us just PAYING them!)...and spent a wonderful evening trying to close my eye over what felt like a huge burning splinter

....after many failed attempts I finally got a few hours of sleep, now my eye refuses to open! (hard to put in my drops that way

)...and I get to go back and see the eye doctor DAILY until its healed well enough... oh boy, thats what I had plans on doing this week ....NOT!

Ouch, sorry to hear that cosy. That definitely does not sound like any fun at all... And that sucks that insurance doesn't cover it. Sometimes insurance seems like such a waste... Other times it is awesome.

thanks...I think I have found something that you would think is worse than a sore throat,

and yeah, gotta hand it to the insurance companies figuring out how to take in money and never give it out. And when you find an 'awesome' time...let me know

Ya that sounds like it might just take the cake. Definitely something I want to avoid.

Fiancee got a bunch of prescriptions for free this past year because her parents meet their deductible or something. So that was awesome.

I think last year was the first year I have ever met my deductible (its over 3k), and seeing as its only january, when it resets...not even close to it (hope not to either). And even though they say they cover drugs...they really only knock off a few dollars and make you pay the rest (eg...mine yesterday was 120 they took off 19 leaving me with 101 to pay--and which most probably WONT count towards that horrible deductible either

).

The doc was going to give me the drops..but didnt have any left (he says 'I have a bunch of drops, but none of them will help you' so he was trying). gotta go to my appointment..hope my eye is healing, but from the looks of it--looks like someone dropped red dye in my eye--goes well with my green (looks rather christmas-y)...but looks worse today than yesterday....feels a bit better (depending on the hour).

and yeah...NOT recommended!!

I pay $15 for my allergy prescription. Which I guess is pretty reasonable. Of course it is generic stuff but it works fine. I have pretty good insurance, which I would hope would be the case since I have to pay a pretty penny for it.

Glad it is feeling a bit better. Hope it continues in that direction!

thanks...but the doc says it was worse--and sent me to another specialist today...good thing, they numb my eye so for an hour or so I am pain/annoyed free ...and then it starts to come back almost worse than before....well I am going to try to get a nap in before this numbness wears off (I have become comfortable numb....)

yeah the pain is pretty much gone at this time, but now my eye is so tired...and reading is hard (though it is my bad eye...it just adds a bit to my depth), I have to stop and rest my eyes every few hours...so lots of naps. And will go back and see the specialist again on saturday. And it looks horrible--I look like someone smashed my eye up.

Naps would be nice. I could go for a nap during the day. But I work all day. Oh well. I got my lunch changed from 11:20 to 12:30 last week so I have been adjusting to that. Makes for a long morning since I teach from 8:57 to 12:28 with no break but it makes the afternoon super short.

bleh...that is just too many hours of having kids around, good luck with that!! (I would put a granola bar in my desk and munch between class breaks).

yes, naps are a wonderful thing, have always loved naps...I would nap when I came home from school (yes, during hs as well as college)...and with the hill top approaching, I STILL love naps!

eye is doing better, got my (hopefully) last check up tomorrow--so we will see what the doc says (I was wrong last time....)

I haven't had an issue with being hungry, which is nice. Guess I stay busy enough that it doesn't bother me that much. Which is good cause from 6:30 to 12:30 is quite a stretch.

Took a nap today. Does that count? It was lovely.

it was good news...though I know why the people who go to see doctors are called patients...since you must have patience to wait for them

yeah I got the doc who was called away..so after driving 1/2 hour (first cleaning the car from that snow we seemed to have gotten), getting there on time...getting to see the 'nurse' for 3 minutes.......I had to wait another HOUR before I got to see him for...5 minutes?

then another 1/2 hour drive home...2 1/2 hours for about 7 minutes of seeing anyone (and the place is huge--lots of doctors, more like going to the emergency room than a eye doctors office)....was not a very happy camper, though my eye is doing much better.

well thats good pwnd, being hungry and trying to do anything is usually fruitless (which would probably make you hungrier

Yes, doctors rarely run on time. Or rather on our time. >.>

I had that happen over the summer, or at least something similar. Drove 45 mins to see my doctor to get my prescription renewed. Got there 10 mins early. Called in, saw the nurse did all the pre-check up stuff. Then sat in the room waiting for the doctor for 30 mins... Finally saw him for like 5 mins then got my stuff and went home. Ridiculous but not much we can do about it.

Hungry? Oh ya, I should probably start dinner soon. Been doing laundry today and made waffles this morning for breakfast. Skipped lunch. So that means I'm a tiny bit hungry. Oh well.

yeah, I have found only a few doctors that are on schedule, yet we have to pay THEM for our wasted time!
worst time: 4 1/2 hours late (gyno was delivering a baby...they should have just rescheduled us, but no....) 2nd worst was a psychologist...they wouldnt let people leave (would charge you for the whole $200 appt) yet we had to sit there for 3 hours (was the end of the day and peeps were going home) before they 'let' us leave without having to cover the doctors charges (they all --including the doctor) were leaving! never saw that sham doctor again.

oh gotta go and get the food (hubby drives, I pay ...

)

I finally grilled. Ate dinner at like 8:45. Fiancee decided we needed to go to run some errands first... So ya. At least dinner was good.

Geez, that is awful. I would be dang upset about that one for sure.

yeah it was pretty bad...I actually stopped seeing that gyno too--and started going to a RN instead....never had to worry about her having to deliver a baby!

good chinese last night, left overs for dinner tonight...and its now
